Before the group can start the war against the Wererats of the Horned Rat, they need to stop Roderick from turning into one of their enemies. His notion to ask at the temple of Peraine for help was a good idea, whereas rambling about him turning into an evil monster was not. A very scared nun sent for the inquisition, which arrested Roderick.

The others attempted to rescue him, and the guards (who described their duty as „looking grim and following procedure“) did not appear a big hazzle. Rather the opposite, they seemed rather laid back, did not take their job to seriously and even offered a tour of the oubliette.

When the group asked for help rescueing Roderick, they were told the Head Inquisitor was usually stoned, considers most demonic acts just a drunken hallucination and only ever sentenced one person (who attempted to seduce him) to the pyre. So, instead of a heist, the group concentrated on finding a cure for Roderick.

Master Eolan told them that La Fleur would be fully capable of developing a cure, she would just had to find the three flaws of their enemy, counter them and incorporate everything in a ritual. And, true to the word, the next morning Roderick was released after being fined for drunkenly pretending to be cursed. Afterwards, Noggins hurried Roderick to the ritual place, where La Fleur had everything prepared:

We have the materials, prepare and clean them. We cut the symbols of the gods into the rim of the kettle.Cutting them into the kettle, we speak the names of the twelve one by one and ask them for help against the nameless one and his children.

Then, twelve times, we say the verse Shine of Silver, paw of cat Save Clearwater from the rat

And at the stroke of 12 Clearwater drinks the potion.

Everything goes well, and Roderick loses his appetite for cheese, but feels extremely drained. Once he had a little sleep, the group will return to their fights.
